Movie Still from "Do Paise Ki Dhoop"
Actress Manisha Koirala is coming back with a bang as her three films are slated to release this year. However she also found a good grounding in her love life. The new Manisha is slimmer and that oomph in her look. The excited actress feels that life is sunny even in this cloudy season.
Manisha has become experimental with her roles this time. However she always experimented with her films, remember films- Bombay, Khamoshi, Dil Se, Gupt, Company for which she also received much critical acclaim. Talking about her upcoming film Chehere, in which she is playing a double role of sort, she said, “It’s the same character, but placed in two different eras and thus having two distinct looks and two contrasting storylines. From a successful actress of the silent era cinema to a fading actress of modern cinema, it is a complex character.”
“It was challenging to find a balance,” adds Manisha.
However talking about her role in Do Paise Ki Dhoop, Chaar Aane Ki Baarish and Ek Second… Jo Zindagi Badal De, which is a directorial debut of Deepti Naval, she said, “It’s the same girl who leads two different lives.”
So should we consider that 2009 as her comeback year? “A comeback means you had gone away, but I was right here! I chose to lie low in the middle because the roles I was being offered were not exciting enough,” Manisha speaks candidly.
Meanwhile talking about her personal life which has always been in spotlight, now she is happy with her steady relationship. Some days before there were reports which said that earlier this year she was supposed to tie a knot to her American boyfriend Christopher Dorris. “That was just wishful thinking on some people’s part! No, I am not married but I am in a steady relationship. I’m happy,” adds the actress.
